JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position Summary

The  IT Technician is responsible for collaborating with support specialists to analyze and diagnose computer issues. Required to install hardware and software for businesses, maintain computer systems and equipment, and diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues that may interfere with the daily functions of a business. Required to support any organization members who need computer-related technical assistance. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serving as the first point of contact for IT support within the organisation 

• Installing, configuring and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems 

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues 

• Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components 

• Supporting people whenever they encounter challenges with computers and network devices 

• Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly 

• Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation 

• Configuring and installing of new IT equipment 

• Identifying and resolving issues regarding software, hardware, and operating system. 

• Perform other job-related duties as needed

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Good interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills. 

• Proficient in database programming and software installation. 

• Attention to detail.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and experience.  

• 2+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance. 

• A+, Linux+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate accreditation advantageous. 

• CompTIA A+/Network+, Cisco Microsoft Certified Solutions Certifications
