Marketing Communications Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position Summary

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the strategic alignment between the organization’s goals and the development of marketing campaigns to meet those objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of digital marketing and the key performance indicators used to track specific channels including web, social, paid search, SEO, email, etc.  

The Marketing Specialist will report directly to the Vice President Corporate Communications, Marketing & Strategic Partnerships. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead projects to develop marketing campaigns, brand collateral, and long-term creative strategies – overseeing the work of external consultants, including advertising and digital agencies.   

  • Evaluate target market segmentation and provide insights to inform marketing and develop campaign strategies in alignment with marketing communications plan. 

  • Lead strategic digital marketing initiatives, creating marketing schemes and special offers, leveraging market trends, and data analytics to enhance digital customer experiences and engagement across multiple channels. 

  • Develop, track and measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts strategies and activities including but not limited to: TV commercials, radio, podcast, print display ads in magazines, newspapers, digital billboards and other external signage, onboard magazines, making recommendations for improvements. 

  • Supervise and work closely with Digital Content Specialist to maintain company websites and digital channels, including content creation to ensure alignment with business and corporate goals. 

  • Manage brand resources and processes to enable consistent brand delivery, i.e., message frameworks, visual assets, key terminology, accurate data and highlights.  

  • Perform extensive quantitative and qualitative market research to implement data driven marketing campaigns and meet organization-wide strategic goals  

  • Work closely with Vice President Corporate Communications, Marketing & Strategic Partnerships to develop and manage the marketing budget, applying robust spend controls that ensure best value. 

  • Support the organization’s growth by content marketing and demand generation strategies that drive awareness and engagement with the Connect Caribe brand. 

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic and external events calendar to drive awareness with new prospects and accelerate existing opportunities 

  • Provide insight and analysis on the value and potential ROI of new marketing platforms and emerging marketing channels  

  • Responsible for overarching strategy of the Connect Caribe corporate website, including UX, design, SEO and content development. Collaborates closely with web development to optimize website content and conversions  

  • Work with team to develop a centralized marketing calendar to include spotlight articles, social media and email campaigns, overseeing their full life cycle, including: creative/copy development, data segmentation, and reporting/analysis  

  • Work with other members of the MarCom team to organize Connect Caribe’s presence in external functions and outreach campaigns

  • Manage and monitor brand reputation across online review platforms such as Trip advisor, Google Reviews, and other similar online platform to gather intelligence, make recommendations to ensure brand alignment and reputation is protected and enhanced

  • Work with Corporate Communications to organize press conference, corporate tours and other events 

  • Create and supply marketing collateral, merchandise and promotion collateral to each event, measuring and evaluating impact on recruitment and brand awareness

  • Work collaboratively with Vice President Corporate Communications, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships to ensure campaigns meet objectives, managing and mitigating any risks

  • Any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS), preferably WordPress and WIX  

  • Knowledgeable about social media channels (blogs, LinkedIn, Twitter, others) and capable of effectively leveraging them for content

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, good understanding of web based and online marketing strategies as well as organic search, keyword optimization and reporting metrics

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively 

  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate marketing strategy into demonstrable operational results evidenced by robust evaluation and performance reporting

  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills 

  • Team player who can build strong relationships with different teams to plan and execute 

  • Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine action 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of marketing, consulting, and/or advertising agency experience 

  • Experience in branding and B2B marketing – online and live – highly desired  

  • Solid experience in market research, analytics, and segmentation  

  • Experience working with C-suite executives  

  • Graphic design experience desirable: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator REQUIRED  

  • Project management experience is an advantage
