JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
The security officer ensures the safety of people, objects, or buildings, either in person of via security CCTV. Responsible for conducting foot or vehicle patrols, controlling access at points of entry, securing equipment and people, responding to emergency situations and helping to identify and prevent criminal activity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities

Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls

Maintains the organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements

Conducting shift handover procedures at the start and end of each shift to ensure all matters of concern are accurately noted for the purposes of service and incident management continuity

Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements

Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
-
Ensuring all times, a smart, alert and visible security presence at the company premises

Any other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills

Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours

Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.

Basic computer skills

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Excellent sense of judgment

Can stay alert at all times

Familiarity with report writing

Excellent surveillance and observation skills
Education and Experience Requirements
-
High School Diploma or equivalent required
-
Prior experience of working as a Security Officer or a Security Guard in the security industry or someone who is confident following specific procedures and instructions
-
CPR/First Aid is a preference
