Position Summary
The Travel and Passenger Services Manager plays a critical leadership role in the cruise ferry sector, overseeing the end-to-end coordination of passenger travel operations across terminals, onboard logistics, ticketing systems, and travel agent interfaces. This role ensures smooth, safe, and efficient movement of passengers and supports the overall travel experience from booking through embarkation and disembarkation.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, operationally savvy, and experienced in transportation logistics in air or maritime travel, with strong leadership and customer-oriented instincts.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight

Manage daily operations of the ferry passenger travel process including ticketing, check-in, boarding, and terminal flow.

Oversee coordination between port authorities, customs and immigration, and ferry crew for efficient embarkation/disembarkation.

Ensure adherence to safety, security, and compliance regulations across all ports of call.
Booking and Ticketing Systems

Supervise the implementation and performance of ferry reservation systems.

Coordinate with IT and sales teams to ensure booking platforms are functioning optimally for passengers and agents.

Monitor system-generated reports for capacity planning and route performance.
Staff Leadership and Coordination

Lead and supervise travel operations personnel across terminals, including check-in agents, embarkation supervisors, and logistics coordinators.

Support Customer Service to ensure operational coverage during peak and off-peak periods and assign duties.

Provide training and support for frontline staff and ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed.
Logistics and Passenger Flow

Develop and manage processes for efficient handling of passengers, luggage, special needs travelers.

Ensure timely coordination between inbound and outbound sailings.

Manage contingency plans for weather delays, vessel changes, or disruptions.
Reporting and Optimization

Analyze passenger data, route occupancy, and travel trends to inform planning.

Prepare and present regular performance reports to the Director of Travel and Communications.

Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and passenger satisfaction.
Stakeholder and Partner Coordination

Work closely with internal departments (sales, customer service, marketing) and external partners (port authorities, transport operators, customs, tour providers).

Support group travel logistics and tour operator arrangements in conjunction with the Marketing and Business Development team.
Qualifications and Experience
Required
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations management within the travel, cruise, airline, ferry, or transport sector.

Strong knowledge of passenger logistics, terminal operations, and travel systems.

Proven leadership and people management skills.

Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Preferred
-
Degree in Travel & Tourism, Maritime Management, Logistics, or related field.

Familiarity with travel reservation systems and CRM platforms.

Experience working with cross-border travel regulations and port operations in the
Caribbean.
