Connect Caribe, the private sector-led ferry service which held its media launch in January 2024, is pleased to announce its Stakeholder Consultation Forum, scheduled for July 23-24, 2024, in Bridgetown, Barbados. This pivotal event aims to drive economic growth, support regional integration, and assist businesses in accessing an 18 million Caribbean market.
The forum, themed "Navigating New Horizons: Bridging Travel, Trade, and E-Commerce Across the Caribbean," will bring together key stakeholders from various sectors, as each division presents its solutions to maritime travel, cargo, e-commerce, and agriculture.
The agenda is designed to inform participants on how to leverage the new maritime corridor, learn about the features and benefits of Connect Eshops, the E-commerce platform for SMEs, as well, provide meaningful discussions and the opportunity to build strategic partnerships.
Key Highlights of the Forum:
Day 1: Official Opening
9:00 – 9:20 AM – Official Welcome and Opening Remarks by the CARICOM Private Sector Organisation and Pleion Group Inc.
9:20 – 10:45 AM – Morning Session on Cargo Solutions, featuring presentations and discussions on systemization, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks.
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – Travel Solutions, including seamless travel systems and route proposals, followed by stakeholder discussions on maritime and air travel synergies.
2:00 – 5:00 PM – E-Commerce Solutions, with live demonstrations from financial institutions and discussions on digital infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Day 2: E-Commerce Solutions
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM – Comprehensive sessions on maximizing e-commerce opportunities, merchandising, package delivery systems, and principles for seizing e-commerce opportunities in the Caribbean.

The forum will unveil fin-tech solutions including a new complementary currency aimed at transforming cross-border transfers in the Caribbean.
